UTU
The concept of Ubuntu is found in all African languages, it shares it root with the word Bantu meaning people.

Utu is a Xhosa word from South Africa meaning that each persons humanity is bound up with the humanity of others.
It’s a philosophy that expresses belief in a universal bond.
I Am Only Because You Are
Utu means that if we can see everyone as connected to us, we will never be able to treat others as disposable or without worth.
By embracing Utu, we live in hope of overcoming division, and become stronger together in a world where the wise build bridges not walls.
At Jasiri, we explore ideas of kindness and forgiveness, tolerance and the power of listening, the courage to be authentic.
We have 12 lessons and practical applications that are woven into learning throughout the term and the entire year.
